TCDSB Students Win $5000 YPI Grant for the AFL
Students from St. Mary’s Catholic Academy are transforming the world through witness, faith, innovation and action. Congratulations and thank you to Yeonjoo Choi, Louis Paglicauan, Daniel Vasco, Madelina Fagundes and Kaitlyn Malfara who won a $5000 grant for the Angel Foundation for Learning through a presentation they made for YPI!
Ms Ousovitch, a teacher at St. Mary’s Catholic Academy, added “I’d also like to express my gratitude to all grade 10 Civics students who contributed to other charities in promoting a sense of community and good citizenship. This project allows students to learn, to engage and to be conscious of their everyday privileges as compared to many of those they help service.”

Financial Training Sessions for our Generous Volunteer Nutrition Coordinators
The Student Nutrition Program team are hosting training sessions for the volunteer nutrition coordinators. These sessions help teach them how to fill out their financial reports that they submit monthly. Thank you for your hard work and dedication! Tom Leon Bursary Presentation
Olaranke Olusegun, from Father Henry Carr and Shane Angelo Avila, from Neil McNeil, received the Tom Leon Bursaries this year from Connie Leon, widow of Tom Leon and Nancy Murdocca, President of The Angel Foundation for Learning. Each bursary in the amount of $5000 are awarded to two graduating students – one female and one male who require financial assistance in order to pursue post-secondary and have demonstrated academic achievements and have made contributions to the school and/or community that reflect Catholic values.
